I receive inspiring quotes on email with the purpose of encouraging others as well – here is the description to go with today’s INSPIRING QUOTE!
In today’s ‘Inspiring Quote’ we hear from Isadora Duncan a professional dancer who rewrote traditional ballet who points out that ‘you were once wild. Don’t let them tame you.”
Isadora Duncan danced her way across the world from New York to Paris, London to Moscow.
Never one wanting to be restricted by the rigidity of traditional ballet or the limitations found in commercial performances, Isadora Duncan developed her very own unique vision of dance. A dance where one is inspired by nature, athleticism, and classical Greet art.
Duncan once stated, “My inspiration has been drawn from trees, from waves, from clouds, from the sympathies that exist between passion and the storm, between gentleness and the soft breeze.”
She was determined in wanting to reconnect movement with emotion as in – “seeking that dance which might be the divine.”
Finally, following her own advice, Duncan – considered by many as the ‘mother of modern dance’ – created an art form that was untamed, wild, and free.
May we all enjoy the opportunity to stay wild and not let society or others tame our voice and expression in whatever way we express it.
Until next time – Stay Inspired, Stay Positive, Stay Happy, and most of all Love Thyself!!
