INSPIRING QUOTE FOR TODAY from J.R.R. TOLKIEN!!

I am always looking for INSPIRING QUOTES with the purpose of encouraging others as well to do so.

Today the INSPIRING QUOTE comes from J.R.R. Tolkien where he talks about those many who wander are not necessarily lost.

In his quote “Not all those who wander are lost”, author J.R.R. Tolkien is found using a snippet of a lyrical verse from the second line in a poem that is included in Tolkien’s ‘The Fellowship of the Ring”.

The entirety of the snippet is:

‘All that is gold does not glitter,

Not all those who wander are lost,

The old that is strong does not wither,

Deep roots are not reached by frost.”

The line used directly as our inspiring quote is the line which has been adopted by adventurous travelers the world over who likely have never read the poem itself in it entirety.

When taken as a whole, the poem suggests that here is a great value in nurturing ‘deep roots’. Those who understand the origins of the quote will be more likely to persevere through adversity.

This type of reference is a theme that echoes throughout many of Tolkien’s stories, as his characters more than not suffer from their trials and burdens.

It also suggests that the interesting question is not whether we wander, but how we wander.

How many times in your life travels have you felt as if you were just wandering along.

We must note that those times that we appear to be just wandering, could also be those moments when we find a great inspiration or see the answer to a major decision.

Never just presume the appearance of wandering is just that as many times what appears to be someone wandering could be that they are just communicating with their God or Great Spirits looking for the latest of hope, faith, joy and love in their life travels.

Until next time – Stay Inspired, Stay Positive, Stay Happy, and Most of All – Stay at Peace and in Love with Thyself and the Journey You May Be On!!
